The advantages of mono amplifiers

A mono output stage represents the idecase with regard to the spatidistribution of power amplifiers for stereophonic or multi-channel playback. The powerful output signof the preamplifier is fed into the immediate vicinity of the loudspeakers by means of symmetricor asymmetricconnecting cables. There, the signis amplified with the power amplifier and adapted to the impedance ratios of the loudspeakers. In this way the supply cables to the loudspeakers can be kept extremely short and the electricand sound losses can thus be kept as small as possible. This is particularly important when the impedances of the loudspeakers used fall below a value of approx. 4 ohms.

Also, by the spatiseparation of the two output stages, a translation between the two stereo channels is completely excluded. This factor can not be underestimated, especially for power amplifiers!
